OUR CORPORATE OFFICE
Morgans Hotel Group corporate offices are located on the west side of Manhattan at 475 Tenth Avenue in New York City. Corporate Operations, Finance, Sales and Revenue Management, Legal, Brand Marketing, Development, Design, IT, Human Resources and the Executive Team are all located at the corporate office. Corporate leaders in New York City work closely with hotel owners, operators and partners across the globe to set strategy and execute business goals. Corporate management oversees the creation and maintenance of operating standards, establishes and upholds operating and reporting procedures, upholds the organization’s legal and fiduciary compliance obligations, creates and drives brand standards, and works with investors and third-parties to drive the business forward through development projects, brand expansion and business partnerships.
Morgans Hotel Group employees work around the clock to deliver the high-style, high-content guest experience that sets us apart from the competition. Hotel General Managers report into the corporate office and work closely with owners, corporate leadership and hotel employees to drive the objectives of the hotel and/or region. Hotel departments include: Accounting and Payroll, Human Resources, Food and Beverage, Engineering, Housekeeping, and Front Office. All hotel divisions are overseen by the General Manager in partnership with the hotel Executive Committee and department heads. Our dedicated employees commit each day to creating a guest experience that is memorable and unique. It is the commitment, individuality and passion of our employees that keeps our guests coming back time and again.
Students and interns
Morgans Hotel Group offers an internship program to qualified students in the United States and abroad. With an average placement of 40 Interns each summer, Morgans Hotel Group hosts interns at hotels across its portfolio and at the corporate office. All internships are closely supervised by a member of the hotel or corporate management team following a carefully designed curriculum and must be completed for academic credit.
Our interns are recruited from the top hotel schools in the US and abroad including Cornell University, Boston University, University of Nevada Las Vegas , New York University and others. Morgans Hotel Group interns gain first-hand exposure to day-to-day business operations and also gain knowledge of the strategic side of hotel operations and management.
Morgans Hotel Group recruits actively from career fairs at our targeted schools. Internships are unpaid but a stipend may be provided upon completion of the program. Available internship positions are always posted to our website. Qualified students are encouraged to apply.
Training and Development
Morgans Hotel Group offers on-going training to its employees on a wide range of topics. All newly hired employees participate in Morgans Hotel Group’s EDGE (Engaging Dynamic Guest Experience) training. EDGE training introduces Morgans Hotel Group employees to the core values and service principles of the organization and gives new employees an in-depth exposure to the brand. All Morgans Hotel Group employees complete EDGE training on the first day of employment.
Morgans Hotel Group employees complete anti-harassment training at the beginning of employment. In addition, all Morgans Hotel Group managers are provided with Leadership training that instills the behaviors and expectations that Morgans Hotel Group seeks in its business leaders. In-house training programs at each hotel provide employees with relevant information on a variety of topics- from Revenue Management to stress reduction-and guest recovery training provides yet another cornerstone to our guest service philosophy.
Additional trainings are available to Morgans Hotel Group employees include: Collective Bargaining Agreement training, Myers-Briggs training, H.E.R.O.E.S. guest recovery training program as well as additional management, leadership and supervisory trainings programs currently in development. Each Morgans Hotel Group training program has a certification component that promotes mastery of the acquired skills and job knowledge.
Morgans Hotel Group employees and managers are encouraged to expand their job knowledge and skill–base by seeking and attending training opportunities throughout their careers.
