Sanderson invites you to tumble down the rabbit hole in celebration of the 150th anniversary
of Alice in Wonderland and discover a tea party beyond your wildest
imagination. Expect to be reminded of
familiar characters and recall childhood tales along the way. Discover menus
hidden inside vintage books, teapots adorned with kings and queens and sandwich
plates decorated with zebras, birdcages
and ticking clocks.
As spring has sprung, our Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea has had a suitably whimsical refresh with new
sweet and savoury dishes to delight your senses. Starting with delicious savoury
bites on offer from smoked salmon quails egg with caviar and cream cheese to melt-in-your-mouth
King of Hearts parmesan croque-monsieur stack, along with afternoon tea
classics with a twist before moving onto the main event.
The ending is as divine as the start. Come face to face with Tweedle
Dee’s lemon curd financier before enjoying the mocha chessboard gateau and
with the Mad March Hare vanilla pocket watch macaroon, there’s no excuse to be
late for this important date! Wash everything down with Alice’s cinnamon, apple
and peach “Drink Me” potion and for the afternoon tea traditionalists, finish
up with warm scones, clotted cream
and fruit preserve.
Our Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea is perfectly paired with Alice-inspired
tea infusions that are full of flavour and sure to make your experience down
the rabbit hole
,one that you will
never forget. Accompaniments to the
sweet and savoury treats include “Alice” China black tea, infused with hints of
blackcurrant, vanilla, caramel, citrus, bergamot, blue cornflowers and blue
mallow flowers. These are also available
